"Life's Third Act" 01/31/2012
Inspired by reading Mary Catherine Bateson's, Composing A Further Life, I posted the previous blog. Here you'll discover a video of Jane Fonda giving a compelling talk on the same subject, life's third act. She too was influenced by Ms. Bateson's ideas. Each of us has deep dreams. I believe that these "extra" years offer an opportunity, if we will only grab it, to realize that deferred dream. Or as the poet, Langston Hughes said, "What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore--- and then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over-- like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode?" My deepest dream has always been to write, because it's the thing I think I cannot do. What is yours? 2 Comments | Welcome to Mindwalk
